Fun with Circles

ASSAI Art with Sandi 1st Project of the Spring Session!
Artists were inspired by the work of Robert Delaunay (1885-1941), a French artist noted for his use of vibrant colours and geometric shapes (especially circles). We looked at examples of Delaunay’s work and discussed the meaning of abstract art, then the fun of art making began!

The artists used a variety of art materials, creating several layers as they worked. Pencils, oil pastels, paint and tissue paper led to interesting and creative discoveries as students overlapped to make new shapes, colours and textures.
