Junior Coding & Robotics: Climate Solutions (7-9yrs) July 4 – 7 9:30am-3:30pm $395

Welcome to our best-selling camp for future tech stars. Using puzzles, games, and fun we introduce coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, events, functions, and conditionals. Students then master these skills with hands-on coding challenges featuring our delightful Dash robots. Each day they’ll take Dash on a new themed mission requiring engineering design thinking and computer coding to solve climate problems and make a positive change in our global environment. Requirements: None
The goal of this camp is to encourage critical thinking, imagination, and perseverance, and to empower young children with the confidence to say “Yes” to computer science.

Do you love drawing cartoons, creating characters, painting backgrounds? Drawing in 3D? Learn how to put it all together and create your own animation piece, from character to creation, through to clay models, storyboards, and animated product. Students will have a portfolio of work as well as a quick time video to take home at the end of the course.

Here’s the perfect chance to paint not only how your feeling but create characters from your imagination…and draw and paint how their feeling too! We’ll create characters, draw faces and expressions, paint and bring them to life! Prepare to also make faces out of colored clay, change them, manipulate them, and take photos. We’ll animate our expressions and create all kinds of unique digital artworks!!

Calling all Engineers of the Future: Let’s build the city of the future! A hands-on engineering, designing, and building camp where we explore the different types of engineering required to first make a city work, and then make it climate-positive. We will dive into how our cities work using the applied science of Power, Environmental, Mechanical, Structural and Civil Engineering. Then we will add the lens of ClimateTech, and design our cities to include renewable energies, cleaner transportation, energy-efficient buildings, greener communities, and emerging climate technologies.
We won’t just talk, we’ll also build these cities as we go with hands-on design and build projects culminating in our own green city. Requirements: None |

Bring your imagination along and have fun! Learn to play the piano and explore rhythm through various games and activities including drawing ,story writing and dance. We will be making musical instruments out of recycled materials and having fun playing them together. All crafts are music related. All levels of piano experience welcome – from beginner to advanced. (Parents please pack a lunch ,two snacks and a water bottle daily. Don’t forget hats and sun screen as we will be having a beach day!)

Creative Makers: AI Characters & Illustration (7-9yrs) July 31 — August 4 9:30am – 3:30pm $495 |
Artificial intelligence is in the process of revolutionizing every industry: computer science, medicine, engineering, journalism, art and many more. In this course, students will learn the basics of what an AI is, what makes it so powerful, and – importantly – how they can use it as an asset to their creativity, not a replacement.
Students will use cutting edge artificial intelligence tools to brainstorm their own characters. Then they build on these characters to explore the fundamentals of illustration, storytelling and bookmaking to experience using digital technology and their own hands to make a physical project. Musical Art-Attack (6-12 years) July 31 — August 4 9:00am – 12:00pm $180 |
By drawing or painting to music, students will learn to identify the similarities between music and art. In this exciting, action-packed class, we’ll explore painting to all kinds of different music using watercolour paints, watercolor pencils, adding pastels, combining bright acrylic colours and playing with textures on canvas like real artists!!! Be inspired by a variety of music each class… and truly paint up a storm!

Join Jessie Beauvilliers for a week of artsy mornings this summer that will include painting, drawing, crafting and more. Participants will be encouraged to explore their own creative ideas while experimenting with new techniques and styles, sparking creativity and imagination. Please pack a snack and water as we will have a short break mid-morning.!

Rockin’ Rhythm Camp with Nick (7-10yrs) August 21 – 25 9:00am-12:00pm $150 |
Join Nick Stecz, from Community Drums, to explore all types of music through rhythm exercises on bucket-drums, percussion, hand drums & drum kit. Form a band, design your album art, and play all your favourite songs! Other activities include jam sessions on new instruments, trivia & popular music history. We’ll get active and outdoors with the ‘Tuff Drummer’ rhythmic relays and other games! Please bring a snack and water as we will have a short break mid-morning. Equipment provided, or bring your own instruments!

Build and Design your Own Robot with Arduino (10-12yrs) August 21 – 25 9:30am – 3:30pm $495 |
As you read this robot factories are building robot drones to deliver robot vacuums to homes around the world. Robotics isn’t just the future, it’s the here and now. In this hands-on camp, students will learn the perfect combination of electrical engineering, 3D fabrication and computer coding to be on the cutting edge of robotics. By building their own Arduino-powered robot, designing and fabricating parts, and writing code to complete challenges, students won’t just assemble a robot, they’ll develop the skills needed to customize and create their own future robotic projects. Requirements: Laptop or Chromebook, no need to install any software. Please note that tablets won’t work.

Drawing, Painting & Creative Drama (6-12 years) August 28 – September 1 9:30am – 3:30pm $300

Do you love to create backgrounds, paint sets and act? Here’s your chance to take center stage! Have fun with acting and theatre games, try on costumes and learn about the Meisner Technique building up to scene study. Design your own paper mache costume, paint the backdrop, create your own set and ready, set… action! REGISTRATION POLICIES
Please register early! Camps can be cancelled if everyone waits until the last minute to register. We will make a decision on camps 7 days prior to the start date. If minimum registration has not been met, the camp will be cancelled.
Payment
- We accept cash, cheque, debit, Visa, or Mastercard at the Centre (credit card only for online and over the phone registrations).
- All fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
- Online registration has a non-refundable processing fee.
Refunds
- Refunds will only be issued for withdrawal requests made seven business days in advance of the first day of camp.
